What Each Day Looks Like

At Stanford, every training day is designed to push you, challenge you, and bring out the very best in your game. Our elite coaching staff leads a dynamic 3-hour practice block each day, giving you the same level of detail, intensity, and development our college athletes experience every day. This schedule is combined with game-scrimmages, conditioning and more.

3 Hour Daily Practice Sessions

1 hour of hitting
Sharpen your mechanics, refine your approach, and learn to move with true swing efficiency—guided by coaches who develop Pac-12 hitters and future MLB talent. Stanford All Star Baseball Camp staff helps develop a potent offensive game.

1 hour of defensive work
Immerse yourself in high-tempo positional drills and live defensive reps. Whether you’re an infielder, outfielder, catcher, or pitcher, you’ll master the movements that separate good players from great ones.
In fact, an infielder may take 125+ ground balls in a single session of the Stanford All-Star Baseball Camp—forehands, backhands, slow rollers, and everything in between.

1 hour of strength, speed, and conditioning
Train with purpose as we build your agility, explosiveness, and long-term durability—the athletic foundation every high-level player needs to compete at the next level.

Each team is assigned a college coach

At Stanford, competition is the heartbeat of development—and every day on the field is built to help you rise to the moment. Campers compete in 9–10 innings of live baseball each day, giving you more in-game opportunities than a traditional showcase and allowing you to prove yourself where it matters most.

To keep the pace high and the action constant, we use a 1–1 count, creating more balls in play, more decision-making moments, and more at-bats for every player.

Each team is assigned its own college coach, giving you direct access to high-level instruction, in-game feedback, and real recruiting insight throughout the week. These coaches don’t just watch—you’ll learn from them, interact with them, and be coached by them every inning.

Our rosters stay intentionally small (12–13 players per team) so you get maximum reps at the plate and in the field while showcasing your instincts, passion, and competitiveness.

This is Stanford baseball at its best—fast, focused, competitive, and built to elevate your game.

Player Evaluation From Coach

Every camper receives a personalized, in-depth written evaluation from their assigned college coach—just like the ones used at Stanford’s elite summer sessions. This isn’t a generic form letter. It’s a detailed, position-specific assessment built to help you understand exactly where your game stands today and what you need to do to reach the next level.

Your coach evaluates the things that matter most to college programs: attitude, work ethic, performance in games, and long-term potential. These evaluations give players and families a clear blueprint for development—far more valuable than the brief comments athletes typically receive at a showcase.

Free 4K High Definition Video!

At Stanford, we want every camper to leave with more than just memories—we want you to leave with tools that accelerate your recruiting journey. That’s why every athlete receives a professional Video & Technology Package powered by RealPlay, the same system trusted by top collegiate programs.

What You Receive

• 35+ high-quality video clips (some players receive up to 60)
Every clip is clean, condensed, and edited to showcase only your most important reps.

• Full Game Play Footage
Every at-bat, every pitching sequence, and every meaningful moment is captured so coaches can evaluate your true in-game ability—not just drills.

• Practice Footage With Data Overlay
Campers receive head-on batting cage videos paired with Rapsodo metrics, including:

  • Exit speed

  • Launch angle

  • Distance
These clips look just like what college coaches use internally to evaluate hitters.

• Fast Turnaround — Delivered Within 48 Hours
Your entire video package is sent to you shortly after camp, so you can immediately add it to recruiting emails and profiles.

Why This Matters

RealPlay’s system automatically condenses, tags, and splices your clips, giving you a ready-to-use highlight librarywithout any editing required. College coaches love this format because it gets right to what they want to see—your swing, your timing, your approach, and your ability to compete.

This is the kind of video that gets opened, watched, and remembered.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many years have you run camp and what makes this camp special?2025-12-05T21:14:37+00:00

We have operated this camp for more than 35 years. Over time, we’ve been told repeatedly that our camp is the best in America. We originally founded it because it wasn’t physically or financially possible for our coaching staff to see all the prospects we needed to evaluate during the summer.
This camp is far more than a showcase — it is a 3-day “Baseball Experience.”
Each day includes a three-hour, college-style practice and a competitive game. Coaches evaluate you based on how you train, learn, adjust, and compete — not just your game results.

Will players receive any type of evaluation once they leave All-Star Camp?2025-12-05T21:14:57+00:00

Yes. Players receive two evaluations:
1. Metrics & Skills Evaluation — Detailed measurable metrics + ranking + evaluation from your defensive practice coach.
2. Comprehensive Coach Evaluation — Your team coach provides a full written evaluation covering performance, instincts, effort, attitude, and coachability.

How involved will the Stanford baseball coaching staff be in camp?2025-12-05T21:15:14+00:00

Head Coach Dave Esquer and the full Stanford staff — Thomas Eager, Steve Rodriguez, Ryan Kirby, and Andre Mecurio — are highly visible and hands-on in all aspects of the camp.

Who coaches the teams at camp?2025-12-05T21:15:33+00:00

Nearly all teams are coached by current college coaches, who lead practices, manage games, and write final evaluations for every player.

What other colleges will be working at the camp?2025-12-05T21:15:52+00:00

We expect about 25 college coaches per session, representing top academic schools across all divisions and from every region of the country.
Each session features a different mix of programs.

What kind of video content will campers receive?2025-12-05T21:16:09+00:00

Each camper receives multiple professional-quality RealPlay video clips — typically 35–60 clips.
This includes:

  • Every pitch of each hitting or pitching at-bat

  • Head-on batting cage video with full Rapsodo data

  • Professionally spliced, individualized highlight clips

These videos are delivered via email within 48 hours of camp ending.

Do I have to pay the full amount when I sign up for camp?2025-12-05T21:16:27+00:00

No. You pay a $450 deposit at registration. The remaining balance is charged in equal installments on March 1, April 1, May 1, and June 1.

If I attend with a friend, can we be on the same team?2025-12-05T21:16:44+00:00

Yes. During registration you can request specific teammates, and we make every effort to honor these requests.

What time does camp start?2025-12-05T21:17:02+00:00

Registration begins at 6:00 pm on Day 1 at Sunken Diamond. Gear distribution and orientation happen that evening.
Practices and games begin the next morning at 8:00 am.

How many players are on each camp team?2025-12-05T21:17:17+00:00

Teams typically have 12–13 players, enough pitching for three nine-inning games over three days.

What time does camp end?2025-12-05T21:17:37+00:00

For 10 of 14 teams, camp ends at 4:00 pm on the final day.
For the remaining 4 teams, camp concludes by 6:00 pm.

How much baseball will there be?2025-12-05T21:17:55+00:00

A lot. This is three days of intense baseball, and players should expect to be physically exhausted.

What happens during the practice segment each day?2025-12-05T21:18:17+00:00

Each day includes a three-hour practice block:

  • 1 hour hitting

  • 1 hour defense

  • 1 hour strength/speed/conditioning

These reps allow coaches to evaluate your skills thoroughly.

Will analytics technology be used at camp?2025-12-05T21:18:38+00:00

Yes. Stanford Baseball integrates technology such as HitTrax, Rapsodo, and others. Players will use this technology during practice sessions.

Why do games start each hitter with a 1–1 count?2025-12-05T21:18:58+00:00

Starting at 1–1 keeps the pace fast, allows 9–12 inning games, and gives hitters more total at-bats for evaluation.

My son pitches and plays another position. Will he get to do both?2025-12-05T21:19:16+00:00

It depends on his admission type:

  • Pitcher-only admissions: limited at-bats

  • Two-way prospects: fair opportunities for both pitching and hitting

  • Position players: may only pitch if the team runs out of pitching

How do I know my son is being correctly identified?2025-12-05T21:19:33+00:00

Each camper receives a unique numbered jersey, and rosters are distributed to all staff.

Do campers bring their own bat?2025-12-05T21:19:59+00:00

Bats and helmets are provided, but players may bring their own wood or BBCOR bat.

Can I attend more than one session of All-Star Camp?2025-12-05T21:20:15+00:00

Yes. Many players attend multiple sessions. The structure is the same, but the coaching staff varies.

How do overlapping sessions work?2025-12-05T21:20:32+00:00

Session 1 ends at 4:00 pm on June 26 and Session 2 registration begins at 6:00 pm the same day.
The same applies for Sessions 3 and 4 (July 29).

What is your refund policy?2025-12-05T21:20:53+00:00

Parents are welcome — and encouraged — to watch all practices and games.

Do you have camp rules?2025-12-05T21:22:20+00:00
